The Silky Layer began as something gentle enough for the most sensitive skin. Then one of our clients wore it under her makeup and everything changed.
It melted in smooth. No caking, no pilling, no burning, no white cast. Just a soft, pearly glow. Soon, more women were asking for it by name.

A waterless cacao blend
Cocoa butter and cocoa powder, shea butter and plant oils of coconut, jojoba, sweet almond and avocado, infused with raspberry seed, carrot seed and non-nano zinc oxide. Finished with sandalwood, lavender and geranium.
Whipped by hand into a silky texture that creates a breathable, protective layer and helps guard your skin against everyday environmental stressors like wind, sun and dry air, while keeping it soft and nourished.
How to wear it
- Before makeup: With dry fingertips, massage a small dollop into clean skin. Let it settle for a minute, then apply your foundation as usual.
- On its own: A bare, glowing finish on cheekbones, shoulders and collarbones.
- Body: Smooth over arms and legs for a soft, silky sheen.
- Tattoos: Keep healed tattooed skin soft and moisturized.
Questions people ask
Will it leave a white cast?
The cacao gives it a warm tone that melts into the skin with a soft, pearly glow.
Is it good for sensitive skin?
It is waterless and made without synthetic fragrance or preservatives. It does contain essential oils of lavender, geranium and sandalwood, so patch test first if your skin reacts to essential oils.
Is it vegan?
No. It contains beeswax.

This is the first sunscreen that I used that did not leave an ashy cast on my skin. I have sensitive skin and did not break out from it.
I use this on my children and I take it with me everywhere. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to use it as a moisturizer but I do and it works.

This is HANDS DOWN my favorite sunscreen of all time. I love that it has such a nice unique smell like a hint of chocolate (I think because of the cacao butter) and it has a very moisturizing feel that leaves my skin feeling amazing. This is the only thing I use on my baby as well. You can really feel the difference and is incomparable to many generic zinc sunscreens (and of course those big no chemical sunscreens). The Mineral Sünscreen is the product I was most excited to order and it did not disappoint! This is one of the first natural mineral sunscreens I’ve ever tried. It has a light, whipped texture. The subtle smell is sweet in a hearty way. A little bit goes a long way, and it rubs in nicely without leaving a sheen or a bothersome residue. It’s nice to reapply as it remains light and still lets your skin breathe.

Last summer my son and five man farm crew put up 30,000 bales of hay in 90° weather. They all tried the sunscreen and LOVED it! It wasn’t sticky, so didn’t cause hay to stick to them, it held up to the extreme sun, heat, sweat and continual movement! They also love how light it felt on their skin, “like it’s not even there-it’s likeI don’t even have any on”, and they didn’t need to reapply continually. No one got even a bit of burnt skin. I’m back this year to order more!!
